Get Involved The Acupuncture Society of Virginia needs your help! With each passing year, our list of goals grows longer and our agendas denser. The Board of Directors works hard to provide ASVA members with legislative and legal support and quality continuing education courses on a local and national level. But we can't do it alone! We need the help of our members, supporters, and affiliates. Getting involved is easy. Here is how you can contribute: |
BECOME A MEMBER
ASVA offers multiple membership options: active and inactive Licensed Acupuncturists, students of VA Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine colleges, allied healthcare professionals, college/universities, and professional business. To sign-up for membership, click here.
DONATE
ASVA is a small organization with a big agenda. Any monetary donations... small or large... will help us achieve our mission. To donate, click here.
START A CHAPTER
We need members from all over the Commonwealth of Virginia to step up and represent their region. To learn more about starting a regional chapter, click here.
BECOME A MENTOR
The Commonwealth of Virginia is home to two Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine schools: Virginia University of Integrative Medicine, in Vienna, and Lotus Professional College, in Richmond. With a strong population of acupuncture students in Virginia, ASVA is working hard to create programs that support and encourage student involvement in the profession. Students at these institutions have expressed interest in shadowing licensed professionals to better understand the ins-and-outs of private practice.
Mentors can decide how active they want to be in their mentoring process. You can allow students to shadow you during a visit to your office or simply connect with them via e-mail or phone. If you are interested in becoming a mentor for Virginia acupuncture students, please contact ASVA at acusova@gmail.com.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Do you already post on social media (Facebook or Instagram)? If you do, please consider tagging @acusova on your events, posts, and reels. With your permission, we will repost your post and continue to support each other and the profession.
ADVOCACY & COMMUNITY BUILDING
Building rapport is the first step in getting support from our State respresentatives and delegates. There are three basic steps to building rapport and helping our professional efforts in advocating for our profession. Step 1: Introduce yourself to your local State Representative and Delegate by visiting their office, or email, or phone. Find your reps HERE. Step 2: Stay in touch with them. They work for you! Let them know what is going well, what are challenges as a healthcare provider in your area, and show your support at their events. Step 3: When ASVA needs support for legislative matters, you reach back out with a specific ask. During those specific ask moments, we'll send you information and specific scripts to help you communicate clearly.

Do you have experience fundraising?
