This two day seminar on auriculotherapy presents the most recent advances in the utilization of ear reflex points for the alleviation of pain, addiction and stress related disorders. This course provides fundamental knowledge of somatopic correspondence of the physical body to the inverted fetus pattern represented on the external ear. The historical, theoretical, and anatomical localization of the German System of Auriculotherapy will be presented, as well as recent German localizations important to neurological mechanisms of auricular pain relief. Specific auricular treatment plans for the relief of myofascial, visceral and neuropathic pain will be described on the first day, with the second day more focused on substance abuse disorders and psychosomatic distress. Both didactic presentations and hands-on training will facilitate a deeper understanding of the auriculotherapy practices that allow optimal integration to the microsystem of the ear to the macrosystem of the body. Upon completion of the seminar you will be able to:

  •  Demonstrate exact auricular locations of the anatomical body.
  •  Designate what auricular technique would provide the greatest relief to the patients pathology.
  •  Utilize effective and easy auricular treatments as an adjunct to the primary treatment modality.
  •  Implement effective strategies for patients suffering from problems common to chronic pain presentations and substance abuse.
  • Use effective auricular treatments in patients suffering from psychological distress issues.

The instructor assumes that participants already have a basic understanding of auricular acupuncture. Class size is limited.
